Handy in a pinch.

The Forever pen writes like a cheap pencil, is not very dark, and doesnt work on anything but paper.

The screwdriver uses two-sided bits but is compatible with 4mm micro-bits if you have any lying around. 4mm bits are not standardized, so some may or may not work.

Something I like about the screwdriver is how everything is magnetic fit. The bits just sit on the plastic storage sleeve with magnets keeping them in place. The storage sleeve is held in place by a magnet in the handle. I find it hard to resist fidgeting with the storage tray as its so satisfying to remove it from the handle. I can imagine ferric particles will ruin the mechanisms, but compressed air should clean it out.

The spinning cap is not on a bearing so it doesnt have the satisfying spin other drivers have. The end cap spins smoothly enough, but not for more than a second.

I wish there was a less sharp bit I could use when transporting the driver, it would make leaving it in my pocket more reassuring. I am positive the screwdriver will poke a hole in my pocket. I carry it with my pens and it is useful as a small screwdriver and has come in handy a few times. I took apart a mouse with it and a keyboard too. It also helped me adjust the lights when I replaced the bulbs.

Its not cheap, but as with any HOTO product, youre paying for the looks more than the function. However, in this case, the screwdriver has plenty of function.

Good screwdriver, bad pencil, limited bit options.

(HOTO 5 in 1 Multitool Pen Pocket Screwdriver without Cap, Gifts Gadgets for Men, Magnetic Precision Screwdriver Set, EDC Small Screwdriver Set for Eyeglasses & Electronics in Cinnabar Red / $15 at the time of the review)

Gonna go over the good points first. The colors they offer are great. I chose Red (actually Orange) because I wanted to be able to find it quickly in a drawer filled with other tools. But both the Black and Silver were very nice. When you slide off the end of the tool, it reveals a storage area for 2 bits. The magnet that hold them in place is weak but, it does the job fine because theyre sitting securely inside the tool. The magnet that holds a bit at the top of the tool for use is a bit stronger. For the type of repairs youd be doing with this, the bit wont be coming out during use. The screwdriver bits work great for smaller screws like those found on glasses, inside cell phones and in smaller electronics. The tips are fairly durable and the tool feels good in the hand during use.

The Eternal Pencil tip is just ok. When it does write, its extremely light. Think of 4-5 shades lighter than a No.2 pencil. And it only works on paper. It doesnt write on cardboard, greeting cards, etc. And making it a bit worse, it doesnt write consistently on different types of paper. So you may get a legible note on a standard piece of white copy paper. And then it may barely leave a legible impression on a Post-It note. But this isnt the fault of Hoto. Its more of a limitation of Eternal Pencils in general. So that feature is more of a novelty.

In total, you get the Eternal Pencil tip, 3 Philips bits and a single Flathead. Instead, they should have given a single Philips bit and replaced the others with a commonly used Torx bit, Pentalobe and Y-Head. The type of person to carry this tool most likely already has their own set of precision screwdrivers. So this would be something they would keep as a travel tool or in their pocket for random quick uses. Overall, the quality is fairly good and I do like it. But its a bit high-priced for it its limited offerings.

Cute Little Screwdriver

The HOTO 5 in 1 Pocket Screwdriver is a very cute little precision screwdriver. There's nothing groundbreaking about it but it looks good and works well. Don't expect to be cracking loose big ol' rusty screws with this though it's meant for small stuff like glasses or game controllers. There is an included scribe tip which is pretty convenient. Everything is held together with the magnificent power of magnets so don't be using this in a machine shop unless you like having metal shavings everywhere, but again this is a light duty tool so it doesn't belong there anyways. The body appears to be anodized aluminum which is a good choice to be sturdy and lightweight while also taking on vibrant finish colors.

I have zero complaints aside from wanting some kind of cap but for the price this little screwdriver is fantastic. 5/5 stars highly recommended.

Handy, but I wish it had more bit storage

As a small screwdriver this seems like a pretty handy product. But as a pen, it's a bit disappointing. It writes (sort of), but it feels like using a very hard leaded pencil, and it's a bit scratchy feeling. I took a photo of the writing I did with it and attached to the review.

As a screwdriver I do like it. I wish it came with one more double-ended bit (maybe a 2.0 and 2.5mm hex, since I use those a lot. I tried to find a bit with some of my other tools that might work, but none of them were-double ended.

I will likely remove the pen tip and just find another bit to substitute for the pen in the future.

I'm giving this 4 stars because of the questionable pen -- I know it's supposed to be inkless and this brings compromises, but I just don't see myself using it.

Nice edc driver

The size is a just about right. It seems pretty decent quality and worth every penny. The bits are attached by a fairly strong magnet and it looks great. It weighs about as much as a tablet pen. I like the nifty metal pencil tip as well.
