Inside HOTO Day LA: Community, Creativity, and Two New Product Reveals

September 20, 2025 - The Gallery, El Segundo, CA

Our LA community gathered at The Gallery in El Segundo on Saturday afternoon to celebrate HOTO's sixth anniversary. The bright, industrial setting created an open and friendly atmosphere—exactly the kind of environment we hoped for as we introduced our latest ideas and connected with the LA community.

Team Sharing and Connections

Our CEO, Liu Lidan, opened the event by sharing a transparent look at HOTO’s evolution over the past six years—from early product experiments to the design principles that guide our current lineup. Her talk sparked valuable questions from attendees, covering product development, user needs, and future categories we’re exploring.

The presentation sparked active engagement from the audience. Attendees asked thoughtful questions about our development process and future plans, creating the kind of direct dialogue between leadership and users that makes these events so special.

The Trade-In Program: Understanding Real User Needs

One of the day's most popular features was our tool trade-in program. Based on pre-event registration forms, our team had prepared replacement products for each attendee's specific needs.

People arrived with a diverse collection of old tools—from worn handheld vacuum cleaners and outdated electric drills to damaged air pumps and aging precision screwdrivers. The "old" list included everything from HOTO's earlier handheld vacuum models to smart food scales, cordless electric drills, air pumps, rotary tool kits, laser measuring devices, and tire inflators.

In exchange, attendees received updated versions from our current lineup: the new Compressed Air Capsule, Smart Kitchen Scale, Cordless Brushless Electric Drill, Air Pump ADV, upgraded rotary tool kits, Laser Measure PRO, Air Pump Pocket, and our Electric Precision Screwdriver ADV.

The trade-in program drew active participation—nearly everyone successfully exchanged their old tools for upgraded versions that reflected years of design refinement and user feedback.

Product Reveals and Live Demonstrations

The afternoon's highlight was the unveiling of two new products that represented months of development work.

Rather than just displaying these products, we set up demonstration stations where attendees could actually use them. People tested the PixelDrive's shadowless lighting on detailed assembly work and experienced how the Flexi™'s adjustable brush heads handled different cleaning challenges.

Creator @dad.life.gaming shared his reaction on Instagram after trying them:

“I saw this in person and it is amazing!!!! 🙌🔥”

HOTO PixelDrive Cordless Screwdriver made its debut as our latest precision tool. Featuring an LED display and advanced shadowless lighting system, the PixelDrive is designed for detailed work where visibility and precision matter most. With its compact form factor and smart display showing torque settings and battery status, it represents our vision of what modern hand tools should be.

HOTO Flexi™ Cordless Spin Scrubber introduced a new approach to home cleaning. The tool features dual-speed functionality (220-300 RPM), 2.5 N·m of powerful torque, and comes with six interchangeable brush heads for different cleaning tasks. Its 45-degree angle design and extendable handle make it comfortable to use while reaching difficult areas. The IPX7 waterproof rating means it's built for real-world cleaning scenarios.

Event Wrap-Up: A Community That Shapes Our Future

HOTO Day LA event brought together a community that is hands-on, curious, and willing to share honest perspectives about the tools they use every day. Through conversations, trade-ins, and live demos, we gained a clearer understanding of what people expect from modern tools—whether it’s precision, ease of use, or thoughtful design that fits naturally into daily life.

What stood out most was the consistency in how attendees interacted with our products: the desire for cleaner interfaces, intuitive controls, and tools that perform well without adding complexity. These observations will continue to guide how we design, refine, and prioritize future product directions.

For HOTO, this event was more than a showcase—it was a chance to align our vision with the people who inspire our work. And that’s what keeps us building.
