From Viral Build to Desk Upgrade
Hi everyone, this is Hertz from the HOTO social media production team.
Some of you may have seen one of our previous assembly videos featuring a linear rail setup — it reached over 700K of viewers. (Click here to view the original post.)
This time, we’re taking it a step further — not just building, but upgrading our workspace aesthetics.

Why We Love This Linear Rail Shelf
With its frosted glass panels and metallic structure, the shelf brings a modern, tech-inspired look to any desk setup. Minimalism lovers especially appreciate this clean and structured design style for studios and creative workspaces.
The Assembly Challenges
While visually stunning, the assembly process is not simple.
-
A large number of screws require repetitive installation.
-
The included manual screwdriver can be tiring to use.
-
Some screws are positioned deep inside the frame, making access difficult.
-
Adjustments during installation can require effort-intensive rework.

TO PixelDrive
For this project, we chose the HOTO PixelDrive Cordless Screwdriver.

The long bit was especially helpful for reaching recessed screws. The ergonomic grip design feels secure, and your thumb naturally rests on the control button, making screw-in and screw-out motions smooth and controlled.
The variable speed feature adds precision:
-
Light press: 80 RPM (low speed)
-
Firm press: 200 RPM (high speed)
Since most screws were short, we mainly used the lower speed for better control.
The adjustable torque range (0.5–6.0 N·m) allowed us to select 1 N·m, preventing over-tightening and protecting the screws during repetitive installation.
Make It Better

After assembly, the shelf became part of our filming desk setup. As we create content, we also refine and elevate our own workspace.
Make It Better — with tools that make the process easier, smarter, and more enjoyable.
